767,000 people 'miss their MOT each year'
15th June 2010
Motor Codes has revealed that more than 767,000 people miss the vital MOT every year, risking having to pay up to £1,000 each in potential fines.
The consumer champion has created an MOT and service online reminder tool that ensures car owners never miss these important appointments again.
Chris Mason, director at Motor Codes, said: "No one wants a £1,000 fine for something as simple as forgetting to take your car in for its MOT. The reminder makes life a little easier."
The tool allows a number of vehicles to be registered, so it can cater for multiple-car households as well as those with just one means of transport.
Last month, Kwik-Fit revealed that 35 per cent of car insurance customers service their own vehicles.
The firm suggested that motorists do not try to save money in this way and ensure that they take their vehicles for regular services to ensure that they are safe on the roads.
