Aston Martin Rapide and Cadillac Converj take design awards

Car insurance customers have learned that vehicle designers around the world have voted the Aston Martin Rapide and the Cadillac Converj as their favourite designs for 2009.
The Car Design of the Year Awards from Car Design News took place at the Geneva Motor Show last week, with the Aston Martin Rapide taking the prize for Best Production and the Cadillac Converj bagging Best Concept.
Just beating the Ferrari 458 Italia in its category, the Rapide was praised for its combination of sporting proportions with "emotional surfaces and exquisite detailing", while the Converj fended off the Infiniti Essence in the Concept category.
Accepting the award for the Rapide sedan, Aston Martin design director Marek Reichman said he was pleased with the accolade "on behalf of a team that is very passionate about the brand".
