Ford film details motoring history

5th March 2010

Car insurance customers with an interest in automotive history have been told that a new documentary has been released detailing the arrival and expansion of the Ford Motor Company in Britain.

Using rarely-seen footage from its archives, motoring history producers Auto Heritage have created the film, which charts the journey of Ford in Britain from its beginnings in Manchester's Trafford Park.

Features include Ford advertisements from the early years, footage of the advanced testing facilities used at the time and even a sequence showing a Model A Ford being driven up Ben Nevis in 1928.

Many of the archive films in the Auto Heritage DVD have previously remained unseen for more than 70 years, making the documentary a must-see for Ford fanatics.

Back in the present day, car insurance customers recently learned that the latest next-generation Ford Focus five-door and estate models have made their debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
