Mazda updates RX-8

Mazda will release a new version of its highly successful RX-8 four-seater sportscar in August.

The Japanese car manufacturer is introducing its latest model of the unique rotary-engine four door coupe - which will reach 146 miles per hour and go from 0 to 60 in just 6.4 seconds.

On sale from late August, the Mazda RX-8 R3 will be available from £24,995 and will retain many of the original model's technical innovations - while adding features such as 19 inch wheels and Recaro seats.

Mark Cameron, Mazda UK marketing director, said: "The new Mazda RX-8 R3 is the ultimate expression of Mazda’s brand DNA it is a truly exciting sportscar with immense driver appeal.

"It remains the perfect ‘flagship’ model for Mazda in the UK."

Mazda has also announced this month that it aims to boost average fuel efficiency for car insurance customers by 30 per cent in the next seven years with new and reworked engines.ADNFCR-1784-ID-18683612-ADNFCR
