Schumacher tests new Ferrari California

24th July 2008

Michael Schumacher, the seven-time Formula One world champion, has been drafted in to test the road development stage of the new Ferrari California.

The German racing legend has been involved in the 8-cylinder model, due to be officially unveiled at the Paris International Motor Show later this year, since its inception and has been specifically focusing on optimising its performance.

Car insurance customers will be pleased to hear that Ferrari's team of engineers have already fine-tuned the car so that it can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in under four seconds.

Mr Schumacher said: "The Ferrari California is very much a Grand Tourer in terms of its usability and high level of interior comfort, as it is still surprisingly sporty and fun to drive under any kind of conditions.

"It is designed for everyday use and for weekends away whilst still guaranteeing all of the emotional impact that only an authentic Ferrari can deliver."

Ferrari recently drafted in Michael Schumacher as a consultant to its Formula One team, in a bid to stop Lewis Hamilton building a decisive lead in the world championship.ADNFCR-1784-ID-18700671-ADNFCR
