Fifth of car insurance customers 'do not test drive before buying a car'
7th April 2010
One in five British car insurance customers do not test drive a car before purchasing it, recent research has revealed.
The study, commissioned by used car website Carmony.co.uk, also found that over a quarter of Brits have regretted buying a car soon after purchasing it.
Almost ten per cent of these car insurance customers cite the colour of their new vehicle as the reason for their dissatisfaction.
Over 75 per cent admitted they had little or no confidence when making decisions about buying a car.
"Our research has revealed only a quarter of Brits feel confident with the car buying process and it's clear that some consumers need help when they're choosing a car," said Alan Hazelhurst, from Carmony.co.uk.
Last month, the website revealed the results from other research it had commissioned. This found that less than ten per cent of Brits had taken advantage of the government's scrappage scheme but nearly two thirds said they wanted it to continue.
