Jaguar unveils XJ6 in London

10th July 2009

Luxury car maker Jaguar has officially unveiled the all-new XJ6 at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

Hosted by American TV presenter and classic car enthusiast Jay Leno, the launch was attended by a select audience that included business leaders, celebrities and media.

The XJ6 has been touted as the company's four-door flagship model, featuring a panoramic glass roof and a luxury driver's cabin that includes hard drive-based audio and navigation systems.

Its lightweight aluminium structure has also been designed with the environment in mind, as it is made with 50 per cent recycled material which is believed to save up to three tonnes of CO2 per vehicle produced.

"The new XJ is a thoroughly modern interpretation of the quintessential Jaguar," commented Ian Callum, design director at Jaguar Cars.

"Its visual impact stems from the elongated teardrop shape of the car's side windows, that powerful stance and its wide track."

The fastest Jaguar ever, the XFR Prototype, was recently driven up Goodwood's famous hill by land speed record holder Andy Green OBE.
