Motor Codes reports better service work in UK garages
29th July 2009
Complaints from car insurance customers about vehicle servicing and repair are being driven down by the introduction of a voluntary code of practice, according to reports.
Figures from Consumer Direct show that the number of complaints about independent workshops has fallen by 4.16 per cent over the last six months compared to the same period last year.
Chris Mason, director of Motor Codes, said an increasing number of businesses realising the benefits of subscribing to the code will lead to better service for car insurance customers.
"By working with the sector to provide real benefit for consumers and raise standards across the industry, Motor Codes is best positioned to help motorists identify who they should be doing business with," he commented.
The company has launched a garage facility finder on its website, which will help drivers to find a responsible workshop to get their vehicle serviced.
A study by Consumer Focus has found that overpricing and poor repair work costs Britain's motorists £4 billion each year.
