Skoda Yeti gets top NCAP safety ratings

27th August 2009

Car insurance customers have learned that the Skoda Yeti has received top marks for safety in a recent crash test.

The test, performed by Euro New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP), gave the compact SUV a five-star rating, citing its excellent child occupant and pedestrian protection parameters as well as its adult occupant protection.

Receiving one of the highest marks yet given for the new whiplash test, which assesses the stability of the seats in the event of a crash and also gaining praise for the protection provided by its knee airbags.

"The result shows our commitment to safety aspects at the development stage that also includes seat geometry tests and the strength of the applied materials," commented Dr Eckhard Scholz, Skoda Auto board member for technological development.

"We test various seat settings and work hard to improve the properties of the entire system."

The Skoda Yeti was recently awarded low insurance ratings as retailers prepare to receive orders, meaning more drivers will be able to get cheap car insurance for the model.
