Young drivers offered free post Xmas healthcheck by XPart
15th February 2010
Motorists seeking young drivers' car insurance can now take advantage of a free health check being offered by XPart AutoService.
The repair centre chain is offering the service to help ensure drivers' cars are in safe working order following the most recent cold snap.
XPart warns that car engines tend to suffer during cold weather, as they strain to reach optimum temperature.
Meanwhile, grit on the roads can damage tyres and bodywork, which can create an additional hazard for those with young drivers' insurance.
Barry Smith, UK sales manager for XPart, explained: "Keeping a car regularly serviced not only keeps the car running more efficiently, consuming less fuel and reducing emissions, but also saves the owner money in the long term by avoiding expensive repair costs.
"A well-maintained car will also hold its value for longer."
Problems with tyres or a car engine could increase the risk of a crash, particularly in winter weather.
Drivers that use mobile phones behind the wheel could make matters even worse, according to the RAC Foundation, which indicates that driver reaction times is worsened when speaking on the phone and driving.
