Car Insurance

Car tax online

Wed, 05 Apr 2006

Following the success of many online car insurance companies the government is to let people obtain their car tax on the internet.

The new government websites that aims to bring together a great number of services will also allow drivers to cut out the trip to the post office to get a tax disc.

All motorists have to do is give details of the car and then pay and the disc is sent within a week.

Other services of use to drivers include booking a driving test, checking a car's MOT record, ordering a personalised number plate and paying parking tickets.

It is hoped that if people use the website the government will be able to cut costs, in much the same way online insurers can reduce costs so drivers and can get cheap car insurance.
