Japanese cars top reliability poll

Fri, 19 May 2006

Japanese cars are the most reliable on Britain's roads, according to the results of a new survey released today.

The survey, conducted by a leading insurer, found that all of the top ten most reliable cars were Japanese brands, while an amazing 16 of the 20 were from Japan.

The list was drawn up by looking at the number of reported breakdowns for each model car, with a total of 55,000 models assessed.

The findings should be good news for Japanese car drivers who have breakdown cover included in their car insurance, as the reliability of their motors means that they may never have to make that expensive claim.

Topping the list was the Honda Accord, which has enjoyed huge popularity in Europe in recent months.

The findings will come as no surprise to Japanese car manufacturers, who have invested significant amounts of money into the development of more reliable engines, gear boxes and other car systems.

It is clear that Japanese cars continue to live up to their reputation as the reliable and safe choice.
