Petrol prices add to motoring bill

Wed, 10 Aug 2005

Rising petrol prices are adding to the cost of motoring in the UK.

Oil prices have been skyrocketing in recent months and the effect is certainly being felt at the pumps.

Research by price monitoring firm Catalist revealed that unleaded petrol now costs on average 90.2p per litre while diesel is 94p per litre.

These record average highs mean that drivers are feeling the pinch of the current global economic conditions.

They will also see the price they pay for goods and service creep up as businesses pass on the additional cost to consumers.

Unlike cheap car insurance, drivers are not able to make such big savings on petrol just by shopping around.
