Convicted Driver
Convicted fine dodgers risking raised car insurance

Talex, the manufacturer of speed cameras in the UK, has warned motorists not to try and evade paying the penalty for speeding by passing responsibility on to someone else as it's latest camera system photographs even the driver.
Many drivers who have previously been caught by speed cameras are aware that they typically only take a picture of the rear of the car, making identification and prosecution of the actual person driving rather difficult.
However, Talex has warned that its new system photographs the front of the car as well as the driver, making it easy for the police to identify the speeding individual.
However, with thousands of drivers in the UK bearing points on their licence, many of them will be desperate to avoid another penalty, even if the penalty for avoiding it is considerably bigger.
Nigel Carter, a Talex director, commented: "There are tens of thousands of drivers with six and nine penalty points. Typically, a driver wanting to avoid more points or an automatic 'totting up' driving ban will claim that a partner or relative was driving.
"This could easily bring a charge of perverting the course of justice, and our advice is: don't even think about it!"
Driving convictions typically raise car insurance premiums by a considerable margin, although not all car insurance providers charge the same.
However, convicted drivers must above all inform their insurer of any change in their licence details or risk invalidating their cover.
