Talex launches voice-alert warning system
Thu, 24 Nov 2005
Technology provider Talex has announced the launch of a new product which claims to make driving safer and helps motorists to avoid driving licence penalty points.
The product incorporates a voice-based global positioning system (GPS), warning when drivers are about to approach a speed camera.
Talex Lite can also help motorists to avoid "black spots", forewarning drivers 500 yards before the location of the camera, the company claims. The device also displays the speed limit of the road.
Sales and marketing director for Talex, Nigel Carter, told Easier.com: "Penalty points don't just mean a hefty fine; insurance premiums take a hammering too.
"Our research shows that just three points can increase motoring costs by about £150 over five years, and if you've got nine points, you'll spend nearly £1,000 extra."
Insurance costs for those with penalty points incurred through speeding fines can also be reduced by shopping around for specialist convicted driver insurance.
