Male drivers remain lost for longer

Tue, 14 Mar 2006

British men will wait for 20 minutes before admitting they aree lost behind the wheel – twice as long as women, it has been claimed.

According to a survey conducted by YouGov, this means they spend 5.9 million hours every year determinedly driving around without any sense of direction.

Poor navigation skills also caused arguments amongst 64 per cent of the survey's respondents, especially after a ten minute "nagging period" in which male stubbornness was slowly worn down.

A recent study suggested that women were also much better and safer drivers than men, adopting cautious and steady responses at roundabouts and T-junctions that greatly contrast with the impulsive, risk-taking habits of men.

Unsurprisingly, this is reflected in accident figures, meaning that women can easily take advantage of the cheaper costs for car insurance that their gender's safe driving has earned.
