British Formula One circuit near top for Grand Prix

Mon, 11 Jul 2005

As the Silverstone racetrack still reverberates with the sound of racing cars following this weekend's Grand Prix, a survey has confirmed its popularity as a motorsport venue.

The research, conducted online and publicised by ITV, revealed that Silverstone was the third favourite track for the Grand Prix in the world.

As the scene of the very first world championship Grand Prix 55 years ago, Silverstone holds an enviable position in the history and prestige of motor racing, the Sunday Times reports.

Young drivers hoping to break through as a professional racer will certainly need insurance if they wish to tackle the Becketts complex, which can be entered at 190 miles per hour and offers three consecutive corners which can never be taken at less than 100 miles per hour.

A fantastic place to witness the sheer power of a Formula One car, Silverstone is a challenging lap, and one that requires commitment, precision and car set up.

Those young drivers wishing to follow in the tyre-tracks of Jenson Button and David Coulthard should pay attention both to their heroes' action this weekend, and to their car insurance policies.
