DfT seeks to keep Britain's roads safe

The Department for Transport has issued advice in a bid to cut the number of accidents on Britain's roads, with up to 300 people killed each year solely as a result of sleep.
Experts are advising motorists to take extra care that they don't push themselves too hard, urging them to take a break and avoid outing themselves in danger.
Radio adverts will be used to try to capture drivers' attention, with a number of organisations joining the scheme in a bid to raise public awareness.
Road safety minister Stephen Ladyman commented: "As the Bank Holiday approaches we want drivers to plan their journeys carefully and make time for a break every two hours.
"Drivers need to remember that taking a short break really can make the difference between life and death."
With all drivers potentially at risk, the need for comprehensive insurance, whether for young driver's insurance or for more experienced drivers, is also clear.
