Young drivers wishing to emulate their hero David Beckham could do no better than driving his car.
The England footballer's old car has gone up for sale on an internet auction site.
It is the car he was allocated in his first season at Manchester United.
The current bid for the 1996 metallic blue sports convertible is £9,000.
The seller claims it was the car Beckham drove when he was courting a certain Ms Victoria Adams and it has even been mentioned in her bestselling book Victoria's Secrets.
The car's number plate also points to its celebrity heritage.
Although being a standard DVLA plate it reads P10 DRB, referring, the seller claims, to Beckham's shirt number and his initials.
