Young driver hits 112mph

Fri, 03 Mar 2006

A young driver has been caught driving at 112mph near Aberdeen.

The Aberdeen Evening Express reports that the 23-year-old was caught on the A96, as part of a police initiative to crack down on accidents on the road.

A second young driver, aged 19, was clocked at 96mph.

Inspector Derek Reid of the Grampian traffic police, told the Evening Express: "The number of offences detected highlights the fact that motorists out there are still not listening to any of our warnings.

"It is also appalling that two young drivers should be driving on the A96 at such horrendous speeds."

Currently speeding on the A96 is going to be unlikely as recent snowstorms mean that it is only passable with extreme care, and the advice is to steer clear of the road all together.

To get a good deal on young driver car insurance it is important to make sure that you keep a clean driving record and avoid hitting the gas and breaking the law. Such fast driving could not only hit your pocket with a large fine but also put you in extreme danger of a fatal accident.
